Zaman Shah Durrani

Zaman Shah Durrani, born in 1767, was the ruler of the Durrani Empire from 1793 until 1801. He was the grandson of Ahmad Shah Durrani and the fifth son of Timur Shah Durrani. An ethnic Pashtun of the Sadozai clan, he became the third King of the Durrani Empire. His reign was marked by opposition from his brothers and internal strife within the empire. Despite these challenges, he managed to secure his position and implement reforms to strengthen his rule. Zaman Shah's ambition to expand his empire led him to plan invasions into Hindustan, although these were not realized. His rule ended in 1801, and he spent the latter part of his life in exile, passing away on September 13, 1844, in Ludhiana, Sikh Empire, present-day India. His burial place is Rauza Sharif in Sirhind, Punjab.
