Mohammad Daoud Khan

Mohammad Daoud Khan, also known as Daud Khan, was an influential Afghan politician and statesman. He served as the Prime Minister of Afghanistan from 1953 to 1963 and later became the first President of Afghanistan after leading a coup that overthrew the monarchy in 1973. His presidency was marked by his autocratic rule, educational and social reforms, and a foreign policy that led to tense relations with neighboring countries. Daoud Khan's reign ended with his assassination during the Saur Revolution in 1978.
