Mohammed Aziz

Mohammed Aziz was an Indian multilingual playback singer who primarily sang for the Bollywood, Odia, and Bengali films. He was inspired by Mohammed Rafi and sang in his style. He started his career by singing in a restaurant in Kolkata. He got his breakthrough when Anu Malik offered him to sing the song Mard Taangewala for the film Mard, starring Amitabh Bachchan. He became a popular singer in the 1980s and 1990s and worked with many leading music directors of that time. He sang about twenty thousand songs, including bhajans, sufi, and other genres in more than ten different Indian languages. He was honoured with several awards for his excellence in music. He died of a heart attack in Mumbai at the age of 64.
