Zbigniew Namyslowski

Zbigniew Namysłowski was a Polish jazz musician who played various instruments, but was best known for his alto saxophone. He started his career in the late 1950s, playing in dixieland and modern jazz bands. He was one of the pioneers of Polish jazz and participated in many international festivals and tours. He collaborated with renowned jazz artists such as Krzysztof Komeda, Czesław Niemen, Michał Urbaniak, Leszek Możdżer and others. He recorded over 30 albums as a leader or co-leader, exploring different styles and genres of jazz. He was also a composer and arranger, creating original and innovative music. He received many awards and honors for his contribution to Polish and world jazz culture. He died in 2022 at the age of 82.
