Femi Ogunrombi

Femi Ogunrombi was a multi-talented artist who excelled in both music and drama. He studied music and drama at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he founded and conducted a choral group called The Ayoro Voices. He joined the National Troupe of Nigeria as a music instructor in 1994 and became the director of music in 1998. He also worked as a consultant for Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture and Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture. He was best known for his role as Papa Ajasco in the popular TV comedy series Papa Ajasco and Company, created by Wale Adenuga Productions. He took over the role from Abiodun Ayoyinka in 2006 and also became the coordinator of studies for Adenuga's PEFTI Film Institute. He was a versatile actor who could play both serious and comic roles with ease. He was also an accomplished musician who composed and performed various genres of music, including classical, folk, and contemporary. He was a respected and admired figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry and a mentor to many young artists. He died on 14 January 2023 at the age of 60. His death was mourned by his fans, colleagues, and friends who remembered him for his talent, passion, and humility.
