Goldie Harvey

Goldie Harvey, whose real name was Susan Oluwabimpe Filani, was a Nigerian professional singer and a Big Brother Africa star. She was born on October 23, 1981 in Lagos, Nigeria. She started her music career in 2009 and released two albums, Gold and Gold Reloaded, under Kennis Music label. She was known for her R&B, pop, rap and electropop genres and her collaborations with other artists such as eLDee and Jaywon. She also appeared on the reality TV show Big Brother Africa in 2012, where she met Kenyan rapper Prezzo, with whom she had a close relationship. She was nominated for several awards, such as The Headies and Top Naija Music Awards, and won some of them, such as Tush Awards and City People Entertainment Awards. She was also involved in charity work and supported causes such as breast cancer awareness and education for girls. She died on February 14, 2013 at the age of 31, shortly after returning from the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, where she attended as a guest. She was buried at the Vaults and Gardens Cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos. She was married to Andrew Harvey, an engineer based in Malaysia, but their marriage was not widely known before her death. She had no children and her parents' names are not available. She was a popular and influential figure in the Nigerian music industry and was mourned by many fans and celebrities.
