Kieron Moore

Kieron Moore was an Irish film and television actor whose career spanned from 1946 to 1974. He may be best remembered for his role as Count Vronsky in the film adaptation of Anna Karenina (1948) with Vivien Leigh. He also appeared in films such as Mine Own Executioner (1947), David and Bathsheba (1951), Ten Tall Men (1951), The Day of the Triffids (1962), Arabesque (1966), and The Blue Max (1966). He also starred in several TV shows, such as The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Saint, The Avengers, and The Champions. He was raised in a Irish-speaking household and his father was a writer and poet who supported the Irish language and nationalism. He began his acting career at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and later moved to London, where he was signed by Alexander Korda to a long-term contract. He married actress Barbara White in 1947 and they had four children. He retired from acting in 1974 and moved to France, where he died of a heart attack in 2007 at the age of 82.
