Faisal Masud

Faisal Masud was a Pakistani physician, professor, and academic administrator. He was the director of Exemplar Care, a health care organization in Des Moines, Iowa, and a former vice-chancellor of King Edward Medical University, Lahore. He was also a professor of medicine at the University of Iowa and a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School. He was an expert in critical care, pulmonary medicine, and sleep medicine. He published over 100 research papers and book chapters on various topics related to his field. He was also involved in several humanitarian and philanthropic projects, such as providing free medical camps in rural areas of Pakistan and supporting education and health initiatives for the underprivileged. He was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Excellence) by the President of Pakistan in 2013 for his services to the nation. He died of COVID-19 complications in Lahore on July 10, 2021, at the age of 63. ¹
