Farhad Humayun

Farhad Humayun was a Pakistani musician, record producer, and video artist who was widely regarded as an authority on rock music in Pakistan. He was born in 1978 in Jersey, United Kingdom, and moved to Pakistan with his family at a young age. He started playing drums at the age of 14 and was a regular in the underground music scene in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. He formed his own metal band Mindriot in 1994 and later joined the alternative rock band Co-Ven as a drummer. He also worked with artists such as Atif Aslam, Noori, Fuzön, and Meesha Shafi as a record producer and drummer. He founded the drum jam band Overload in 2003 and became its lead vocalist, songwriter, and producer. He created a unique fusion of rock, folk, and classical music with Overload and performed at various national and international platforms. He also hosted his own late-night talk show, The Farhad Humayun Show, where he interviewed celebrities and politicians. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2018 and underwent surgery. He recovered and resumed his musical activities until his death in 2021 at the age of 42. He was given a state funeral and buried in Lahore.
