Lies Permana Lestari

Lies Permana Lestari was an Indonesian actress who was active in the 1950s. She was the sister of actress Lely Sulastri and the second wife of actor and director S. Bono. She was also the mother of actress Rini S. Bono, who followed her footsteps in the film industry. Lies Permana Lestari started her career in 1950, when she appeared in the film Djula Djuli, directed by her husband. She then starred in several films produced by Bono's company, Bintang Surabaja Film, such as Tjinta Bersemi Kembali (1951), Tjinta dan Air Mata (1952), and Tjinta Pertama (1953). She also worked with other directors, such as Usmar Ismail, Lilik Sudjio, and D. Djajakusuma. She was known for her beauty, charm, and versatility, playing various roles from comedy to drama. She also sang some songs for the films she starred in, such as "Tjinta Bersemi Kembali" and "Tjinta Pertama". She retired from the film industry in 1959, after her last film, Tjinta dan Duka. She died on July 23, 1967, due to natural causes. She was regarded as one of the stars of Indonesian cinema in the 1950s.
