About me / Bio:

Guan Qiao was a Chinese engineer specializing in welding. He was born on 2 July 1935 and studied at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University in the Soviet Union. He returned to China in 1959 and worked as a senior engineer at the Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute. He was president of the China Welding Association from 1990 to 1995 and vice-president of the International Institute of Welding from 1992 to 1995. He was also a deputy to the National Congress of the Communist Party of China and a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1994. He published many papers on welding technology and received several awards for his contributions. He died on 26 December 2022 at the age of 87.
