About me / Bio:
Hana Kimura was a Japanese professional wrestler who worked for World Wonder Ring Stardom from 2016 to 2020. She was also a cast member on the Netflix reality show Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020, which followed the lives of six strangers living together in a house. She was a second-generation wrestler, as her mother Kyoko Kimura was also a former wrestler who retired in 2017. Hana Kimura started her wrestling career in 2016, after graduating from the Wrestle-1 training academy. She won several titles and awards, such as the JWP Junior Championship, the Artist of Stardom Championship, the Goddess of Stardom Championship, and the Stardom Fighting Spirit Award. She also competed in other promotions, such as Ring of Honor, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, and some independent promotions in Mexico. She was known for her colorful hair, charismatic personality, and energetic style in the ring. She was also popular among fans and fellow wrestlers, who praised her for her passion and talent. Hana Kimura was also a victim of cyberbullying, especially after an episode of Terrace House aired in March 2020, where she had a confrontation with a male cast member over her wrestling costume. She received hundreds of hateful messages and comments on social media, which affected her mental health. On May 23, 2020, she posted some disturbing images and messages on Twitter and Instagram, implying that she was going to commit suicide. She was found dead in her apartment in Tokyo later that day. Her death was ruled a suicide by inhalation of hydrogen sulfide, a toxic gas. Her death shocked and saddened many people, and sparked a public discussion about the problem of cyberbullying and its impact on mental health. Her death also led to the cancellation of Terrace House and the arrest and prosecution of some of her online harassers. Her mother, Kyoko Kimura, filed a lawsuit against the producers of Terrace House, claiming that they exploited and manipulated her daughter for the sake of ratings. She also founded an organization called Remember Hana, which aims to fight cyberbullying and support young people who have dreams. Hana Kimura was remembered as a bright and beautiful star, who touched many hearts and inspired many people with her courage and spirit.
