Haruma Miura

Haruma Miura was a Japanese actor and singer who rose to fame after starring in the film Koizora (2007), for which he won the Newcomer of the Year award at the 31st Japan Academy Prize. He also appeared in many popular dramas, such as Gokusen 3 (2008), Bloody Monday (2008-2010), Last Cinderella (2013), and Two Weeks (2019). He was known for his versatile and charismatic performances, as well as his singing talent. He debuted as a singer in 2019 with the single "Fight for Your Heart", which was followed by "Night Diver" in 2020. He also starred as Lola in the Japanese production of Kinky Boots (2016), winning Best New Actor and the Haruko Sugimura Award at the 24th Yomiuri Theater Awards. Miura was widely regarded as one of the most popular and promising actors of his generation. He had a large fan base both in Japan and overseas, and was admired for his kind and humble personality. He was also involved in various charitable activities, such as supporting children's education and disaster relief efforts. Miura died by suicide on July 18, 2020, at the age of 30. He left a note in his home, expressing his gratitude and apology to his family, friends, and fans. His death shocked and saddened many people, who paid tribute to his life and legacy. His final film, Brave: Gunjyo Senki, was released posthumously in 2021.
