Huner Coskuner

Hüner Coşkuner was a Turkish singer who was active between 1987 and 2021. She was born in Istanbul on 1 April 1963 and started her musical career in 1982. She released her first album, Doğuş, in 1987 and became one of the most popular singers of classical Turkish music. She recorded 22 albums and collaborated with many famous composers and musicians. She also performed in many concerts and TV shows. She was known for her powerful voice and emotional expression. She died in Istanbul on 4 February 2021, aged 57, after a 10-month battle with bone marrow cancer. She was buried at Karacaahmet Cemetery after her funeral prayers at Şakirin Mosque. She was widely mourned by her fans and colleagues.
