Asif Basra

Asif Basra was an Indian actor who worked in Hindi films and web series. He was born on 27 July 1967 in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. He moved to Mumbai in 1989 and attended Mumbai University, where he acted in college productions. He made his film debut in 1998 with Woh, where he played a history teacher. He acted in over 50 films in a career spanning more than 20 years. He was known for his roles in films such as Black Friday, Parzania, Outsourced, Jab We Met, Kai Po Che, and Hichki. He also appeared in some international films, such as One Night with the King and Quicksand. He was also a theatre actor and performed in plays such as Mahatma vs Gandhi, Main Bhi Superman, and Hamlet. He received critical acclaim and recognition for his work in cinema and theatre. Asif Basra also worked in web series, such as Pataal Lok, Hostages, and The Family Man. He played diverse and challenging characters in these series, such as a journalist, a school principal, and a rebel leader. He was praised for his performances and versatility in these series. Asif Basra died by suicide on 12 November 2020 in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. He was found hanging in a private complex in McLeod Ganj. The police investigated the case and did not find any foul play. His death shocked and saddened many film personalities and fans, who paid tribute to his talent and achievements.
