Don Raimundo was a French Cluniac monk who went to Spain to reform the Spanish church during the era of King Alfonso VI of Leon and Castile. He was appointed as the archbishop of Toledo and primate of Spain in 1124, after the death of his predecessor Bernard of Périgord. He encouraged Spanish scholars to translate many important Arabic and Jewish works, unknown to Christians, into Latin. He also supported the Christian hegemony in the Iberian Peninsula against the Muslim invaders. He died in Toledo in 1152.
