Henri Boudet

Henri Boudet was a French Catholic priest who served as the parish priest of Rennes-les-Bains from 1872 to 1914. He was also an amateur archeologist, philologist, and writer who published a book titled La Vraie langue celtique et le cromleck de Rennes-les-Bains in 1886. In this book, he claimed to have discovered a hidden language and a megalithic monument in the region of Rennes-le-Château. He also attempted to link the Celtic, Hebrew, Punic, Kabyle, Basque, and English languages as part of a primordial language of humanity. His book was largely ignored by the academic community until it became associated with the alleged mystery of Rennes-le-Château in the 1960s. Since then, his book has been interpreted by various authors and researchers as containing clues to a hidden treasure, a secret society, or a lost civilization. Boudet died in 1915 in Axat and was buried there. His book remains a source of fascination and controversy for many people interested in the history and mysteries of Rennes-le-Château.
