About me / Bio:
Khuông Việt, also known as Ngô Chân Lưu, was a prominent Vietnamese Buddhist monk and poet. He is recognized for his contributions to the Chữ Nho tradition of Vietnamese literature. Born in 933 in Cat Loi, Thuong Lac, now known as Hanoi, he became a monk at the Phat Da monastery. His works are some of the earliest by any Vietnamese writer, and he wrote in Chinese, the language of the Vietnamese literati and Confucian scholars. His farewell poem "Ngọc Lang Quy" to Lý Giác is one of the first works of Vietnamese literature. He passed away in 1011, leaving a lasting impact on Vietnamese culture and literature.
