Kristaq Mitro was an Albanian film director and writer, who was born in Vlorë in 1948. He was a professor at the Arts University of Tirana in the department of film and television directing. He directed "Apasionata" in 1983 with Ibrahim Muçaj. He also wrote several plays, such as "The Fisherman's Family", "The Seven Shaljans", and "The Brave Boy with Many Friends". He was awarded the People's Artist of Albania. He died in Vienna on April 3, 2023, at the age of 77.
