Ahmed Aboki Abdullahi

Ahmed Aboki Abdullahi was a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian army. He was born in Kano State and joined the army in 1967. He was trained as a signal officer and served in various capacities, including the Onitsha warfront during the Nigerian Civil War. He was appointed as the military administrator of Kwara State in 1984 and later as the Minister of Communications in 1985 under the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He also served as the Minister of Social Development, Youth and Sports in 1986. He was involved in the palace coup of General Sani Abacha in 1993 and was subsequently retired from the army. He joined politics and became a member of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and later the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was the Chairman of Asaa Pyramid Hotel, Kaduna. He died on February 19, 2021 at the age of 73. He was buried at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja. He was described as a patriotic, devoted and selfless officer and gentleman by his friends and colleagues.
