Muhammad Taha al Huwayzi

Muhammad Taha al-Huwayzi was an Iraqi Ja'fari jurist, religious teacher and poet. He was born in Najaf to a father from Al-Huwayza, and studied early education from him, then became a student of Muhammad Husayn Isfahani for a long time. He wrote many books and treatises on various topics, such as theology, jurisprudence, logic, grammar, rhetoric, and astronomy. He also built an observatory in Najaf and made accurate calculations of the lunar and solar eclipses. He was respected and influential throughout Kurdistan and beyond. He died in 1968 at the age of 69.
