About me / Bio:
Tutankhamun was the antepenultimate pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient Egypt. He ascended to the throne around the age of nine and reigned until his death around the age of nineteen. He is best known for reversing the religious reforms of his father Akhenaten, who had imposed the worship of the sun god Aten as the sole deity. Tutankhamun restored the traditional polytheistic religion and moved the capital back to Memphis from Amarna. He also initiated several building projects and military campaigns during his short reign. Tutankhamun died unexpectedly, possibly from malaria and a bone fracture. He was buried in a lavish tomb filled with gold artifacts, which was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. The discovery of his tomb is widely considered one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. Tutankhamun’s mummy, mask, and treasures have become symbols of ancient Egypt and have fascinated the world for decades.
