Carlos Imperial

Carlos Imperial was a Brazilian producer and actor, who was born as Carlos Eduardo da Corte Imperial in 1935. He was involved in launching the careers of Roberto Carlos, Elis Regina, Tim Maia, Wilson Simonal, Clara Nunes and many other artists. His activities included producing films and theater plays, participating in TV shows and writing songs such as "A Praça" and "Vem quente que eu estou fervendo". He was also a columnist, a judge, and a politician. He was known for his controversial and irreverent personality, and he called himself "the King of Pilantragem". He died of a heart attack in 1992, at the age of 56.
