Sabiamad Abdul Ahad

Sabiamad Abdul Ahad was a Malaysian sport shooter who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. He was the champion and national record holder in the Standard Pistol and Free Pistol events. He also won gold medals in the 50m pistol and fire pistol events at the 1983 and 1987 SEA Games respectively. He retired from active shooting in the early 1990s and became a coach and manager of the national shooting squad. He was also a board member of the National Athletes Welfare Foundation. He died of a heart attack at the age of 65 in Hospital Serdang, Selangor. He was laid to rest at the Kampung Sungai Ramal Dalam Muslim Cemetery in Kajang, Selangor. He was conferred the title of Datuk by the Federal Territory in 2011 and received the Order of the Defender of the Realm from the King of Malaysia in 1985. He was widely regarded as one of the best shooters in the history of Malaysian sports.
