Yusaku Matsuda

Yusaku Matsuda was a Japanese actor who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s for his roles in action films and television series. He was known for his charismatic and versatile acting style, as well as his singing ability. He won several awards for his performances, including the Hochi Film Award for Best Actor in 1983. He also directed one film, A Homansu, in 1986. His final film appearance was as the villain Sato in Ridley Scott's Black Rain, which he filmed while suffering from bladder cancer. He died shortly after the film's release, at the age of 40. He is considered one of Japan's most important film actors, and has influenced many manga, anime, and video game characters. He was survived by his second wife and three children, who are also actors.
