Ömer Döngeloğlu, 1 Haziran 1968'de Tokat'ın Zile ilçesinde doğdu. İlkokulu Zile Altunyurt İlkokulunda, orta eğitimini Zile İmam Hatip Lisesinde tamamladı. Daha sonra Sakarya Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinden mezun oldu. İyi derecede Arapça ve İngilizce bilmekteydi. 1986–1996 yılları arasında memleketi Tokat'ta İmam-Hatiplik yaptı. Kamuda uzun yıllar çeşitli idari görevlerde çalıştı. İslam tarihi ve Siyer-i Nebi üzerine yıllarca araştırma, inceleme, okuma ve gezilerde bulundu. Kanal 7 kanalında sunucusu olduğu dini programlarla tanındı. Peygamberin İzinde, Allah’a Adanmış Hayatlar, Yeryüzünün Yıldızları, Sözün Miracı; DUA, Allah Resulünü Görenler, Peygamberimizin Dostları, Mus’ab bin Umeyr gibi kitaplar yazdı. Ömer Döngeloğlu evli ve beş çocuk babasıydı. Yakalandığı koronavirüs nedeniyle tedavi gördüğü Başakşehir Çam ve Sakura Şehir Hastanesinde 3 Mayıs 2020'de 51 yaşında vefat etti. Döngeloğlu’nun naaşı Edirnekapı Şehitliği'ne defnedildi.
