Cilla Black

Cilla Black was one of the most popular and versatile entertainers in British history. She rose to fame as a singer in the 1960s, with hits such as "Anyone Who Had a Heart" and "You're My World", which made her the best-selling female artist of the decade in the UK. She was also a close friend of the Beatles, who helped her launch her career. In the 1970s, she switched to comedy acting, appearing in sitcoms and films. She then became a successful television presenter in the 1980s and 1990s, hosting shows such as Blind Date, Surprise Surprise and The Moment of Truth. She was known for her warm personality, distinctive voice and Liverpudlian accent. She was married to Bobby Willis, who was also her manager, until his death from cancer in 1999. They had three sons and a daughter, who died shortly after birth. She was devoted to her family and often spoke of her love for them. She died in 2015 at the age of 72, after suffering a stroke following a fall at her holiday home in Spain. Her funeral was attended by thousands of fans and celebrities, who paid tribute to her legacy and influence. She was buried next to her parents at Allerton Cemetery in Liverpool. She was honoured with many awards and accolades throughout her career, including an OBE, a BAFTA Special Award and a British Comedy Award. She also received a posthumous number one album with The Very Best of Cilla Black, which was released shortly after her death.
